Why I Love The Bible Bee:
I love the Bible Bee because throughout the years, it has proven a useful tool in aiding my studies of God’s word. Through it, I have been motivated and encouraged to really dig into the scriptures for myself and discover the richness of God and all that he is.  I have been so blessed by the friendship, inspiration, and spiritual discipleship of other competitors as well.

My Favorite Verse and Why:
My favorite verse is constantly changing but right now, I’ve been meditating on 1 Peter 3:15:

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.

This verse has really convicted me about my own lack of readiness to share the gospel with anyone and everyone.  It has inspired me to really know my faith and be confidant in its truth and power so that no man will have reason to speak evil of my Savior. Also, it reminds me that we DO have a hope and it is glorious! We are not just here to live out our days as we see fit, but to glorify and honor our King that when he appears, we may not be ashamed before him.  For he is coming again, and we can take comfort in the knowledge that this earth is not our home.  All the tears, all the pain, all the sorrow of our world is fleeting and temporary.  Only the kingdom of Christ shall stand and we will reign with him as heirs of an eternal inheritance.  His promises to us are truly amazing!

Why Would I Encourage Others To Get Involved:
Well first of all, what better way is there to spend your summer than to learn more about God and have fun doing it? Bible Bee is such a family friendly tool to build discipleship, deepen relationships, and really dig into the scriptures.  Also, it is a wonderful medium through which you can build lasting friendships.  When you witness first hand the effects of a life saturated with scripture, it is impossible to miss the benefits of a competition like Bible Bee.  Although competition is not for everyone, the summer study alone is richly rewarding. The impact of God’s word on your life cannot be judged by a test result or whether or not you qualify to compete at the next level.  God’s word will not return void, but it will prosper and accomplish his purpose in the minds and hearts of all those who apply themselves faithfully to it.
