Why I Love the Bible Bee:
The Bible Bee has motivated me to memorize and study God’s Word more than anything else. Truly nothing compares to the priceless treasure of having Scripture hidden in your heart. When you are memorizing, you have the Word of the Lord ready at hand, you are in closer fellowship with God and obedience to him, and you are walking in the light. The Lord also has such an awesome way of bringing a passage or verse to mind when you need it the most, and I am so thankful God has used the Bible Bee to do that in my life!

My Favorite Verse and Why:
One of my all-time favorite Bible passages is Philippians 2:1-18. This passage is a great reminder of the humbleness and love of Christ:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
It also proclaims the power of Jesus’ name:
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
And it
sums it all up with a call for us to be a light before others:
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. Why I Would Encourage Others to Get Involved:
If you want to grow closer to Jesus and learn more of Him, memorize and study seemingly impossible amounts of Scripture, meet amazing friends, and have the most fun of your life, you should do the Bible Bee!

Hi Kaylee! I am the mother of a junior Bible Bee contestant (Sarah Johnson) and you are the contestant our family has committed to pray for over the next few weeks. It was nice to "meet" you via your blog post and see a little bit of your heart for the Lord. You have a lovely testimony of how God has and is using Bible Bee to conform you to His image. We all look forward to meeting you in person at NBB. Until then, know that we are praying for you daily! Love in Christ, Rachel Johnson (for the Johnson family)
